Wood carving is a form of working wood by means of a cutting tool (knife) in one hand or a chisel by two hands or with one hand on a chisel and one hand on a mallet, resulting in a wooden figure or figurine, or in the Sculptural ornamentation of a wooden object. The phrase may also refer to the finished product, from individual Sculptural to hand-worked moldings composing part of a tracery. 

                Most of artists are available in wood craft world. If we do select among the artists, it can find few best quality artists. In comparision with other countries, Nepal has many talented artists. It is beleaved that wood craft is developed in Nepal since old age. If we see in hermitages, temples, old palace, old traditional places etc, easily lots of wood crafts can find which are made by nepali talented artists. That is the fact evidence of developing wood crafts in Nepal.

                Mr. Buddhi Shakya is wood craft artist. He is one of best artist among the talented. He had made many statue, potraites etc. he has 27 years experience in wood craft. He worked for Guru Thileng Norbu Rimpche in Maya Monastry at Pharping. He had also visited in Bhutan to make fine statue for Royal Family in 2011.
